HOLLIS HILLS BAYSIDE JEWISH CENTER

The Hollis Hills Bayside Jewish Center is an egalitarian congregation in northeast Queens, New York, created as a result of a consolidation of two congregations – Hollis Hills Jewish Center and Bayside Jewish Center. These two congregations have merged over 50 years of tradition and service to their congregations and the Northeast Queens Jewish community. We are a warm embracing congregation with an emphasis on learning and prayer. We are affiliated with United Synagogue for Conservative Judaism with an active nursery school, Hebrew school, daily minyan (twice a day), award winning youth group, and a vibrant adult education program. Our congregation is led and inspired by Rabbi David Wise and Cantor Sol Zim. Visit their website >

Born & raised in the New York area, I graduated from New York University and then spent nearly a decade living and working as an educator and writer/editor in Tel-Aviv, Israel. I currently reside in Bayside, Queens with my husband, toddler & another on the way. Right now I am fully immersed in motherhood and cultivating a pluralistic, inclusive and cultural Jewish lifestyle within which to nurture my family that is vastly different from my own rigid ultra-Orthodox upbringing. I love swimming, reading to my daughter and chai lattes.
